Fadeout,
Sure, I'll take the bet. I'm afraid you might have to remind me in 20 years though. I'm not doing too good on remembering what I gotta do today right now.
random memorial mainstreaming thought.
is it possible to allow all to partake and save face and authority?.
then it occured to me that yes, and quite simply too.. ahh new .

i recall reading some of freud and whilst some of it seemed far fetched in the extreme other parts seemed ugly and reality!.
i have a puzzle i'm pondering: i'm annoyed with myself because i cannot concisely and succinctly pose the question in a cryptic fashion but here goes-.
evil v's holy and whether it is a reality or a construct of humanity for the advantaged!.
I can't answer the question without knowing what you mean by "complications"?

Are you asking if natural selection sets some males up to commit sexual crimes against women? Maybe I am misunderstanding you.
There are no excuses for sexual crimes. It is unacceptable behavior.

I can't see them allowing everyone to partake. It is too much of a class distinction ingrained in them. To partake actually puts you on their radar to be discredited and kept under close supervision.
I think they will be here in 20 years too.
i read mere christianity.. .
.
I've never read Mere Christianity. I do like C.S. Lewis though. What you posted sounds like a rather poor example of his writing. The Screwtape Letters, When We Have Faces, Chronicles of Narnia, etc. all have a Christian theme, but are interesting reading.
"Poached egg" ? I can't believe he made that analogy.
update on original thread from last week.... .
I sure wouldn't want to be an elder with the jws now. They must be in a mess, if they have any conscience at all. They also did not report it to the police. Where did this happen and do they have a mandatory reporting law?
I'm sure they would be dfd if they broke ranks and testified, but where is their decency?
i am trying to choose non-specific words in order to avoid being outed, but i suppose this story probably isn't that unique.
i was really close to my dad.
he'd smile when we pointed out any inconsistencies in people's behaviors, or noticed anything that didn't make sense.
I am glad you have a good relationship with your father. Does the society even think about the damage their crazy policies inflict on children? You're right, it should have been a family matter and not the hall gossip. Sorry.
think for one minute ; it is impossible for the human mind to truly comprehend god.by that i mean suppose we ,the human race, know as much about god as my dog knows about me.the dog is aware of me going out and coming in,being taken for a walk, having his meals put out for him etc.
but he has no concept of the place he lives in, the country or town.he knows nothing about the universe and this planet.he knows nothing not even being able to add one and one.same situation with a goldfish in a bowl, it hasn't a clue about the local pond, lake,or ocean, all it knows is the bowl.now suppose our situation is similar to the dog and goldfish .
we think we have some kind of understanding of god when in fact we don't know the reality by any stretch of the imagination.. maybe god hasn't revealed himself to man and that everything we think we know about god is purely mans invention and imagination , we are as dogs and goldfish.. .
I think we are more like the goldfish than the dog. At least the dog has contact with humans. On second thought, maybe the goldfish has an advantage over us too as it can see us when we are in its field of vision.
I agree that our understanding of things is guite limited by our view of things on this spect of dust called the earth.
it was just on fox news.
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2008/03/04/weather-channel-founder-sue-al-gore-expose-global-warming-fraud.
on monday, while speaking at the 2008 international conference on climate change being held in new york city, coleman took his criticisms further by advocating that all those involved in the sale and marketing of carbon credits, including al gore, should be sued "to finally put some light on the fraud of global warming..
Climate change is inevitable. Whether it is influenced by man's activities is not proven yet. If you really research it, the data is questionable as some have already posted.
Unfortunately, it has become a political issue which always clouds things.
check out this movie trailer scene that supports creation.. http://www.expelledthemovie.com/playgroundvideo3.swf.
.
i thought that it was interesting.
Might be interesting to watch. I do see design in nature that could not be mere random coincidence. I think the trailer is full of loaded language and persecution complex, however.
We could dance around the question of evolution/intelligent design forever. The hardest question to answer is the continued allowance of suffering by God.
What really matters about our beliefs is how do they make us behave. Are we more tolerant and caring people?
